He produced the flip side of Falco’s ‘Rock Me Amadeus’. He was not simple in his dealings with the media in German-speaking countries, who slammed him, to his great displeasure. In the USA he triumphed as a brilliant bassist. He made pop and soul music, and punk was equally important to him. His influence on disco music throughout the world was enormous, because his introduction before the other songs was a must. He shocked South Africa with the first interracial band that performed without a curtain separating the members. In the portrait he appears more sedate than in his music; in terms of color and expression he has control over his rich life, which ended in Vienna.
